Why Holistic Care?

For most of my life, I had an embarrassing skin condition on my face, that at times, was disfiguring.  Medically, my facial skin condition was diagnosed as psoriasis, but in truth that was just the closest diagnosis as the condition was not typical psoriasis.   (Facial psoriasis is very rare, and like all psoriasis’, there is no cure.) Regardless of the lack of accurate medical diagnosis, I was told it was incurable.   In the summer of 2000 at the age of 32, the skin on my face was so disfigured I could barely look anyone in the eye and often did not go out during the day.  (I thankfully worked at night). So I went to yet another set of dermatologists, desperate for help.  When the one M.D. called in his two partners and all three stood there staring at me, saying  “We have never seen anything like this before”, I walked out of that office knowing that A.) The medical community could not help me and B.) I had to find my own solution.

In the summer of 2000 at the age of 32, the skin on my face was so disfigured I could barely look anyone in the eye and did not often go out during the day.

As you can imagine, I was terrified to put any product on my face, never knowing what the reaction would be.  This facial skin condition started when I was 12 and for years I had been on the seesaw of “what was my face like today?”  There were days my skin was terrible and there were days it was just bad.  My state of mind was a direct reflection of how bad my face was when I looked in the mirror ( I did however continue to work on my self-confidence and personality).  In 1999, I learned to muscle test, which changed my life. I thankfully was able to quickly and efficiently determine what products I could put on my face or not.   At that time, there were not many products that I could use.  Often I just used olive oil and/or Vaseline as moisturizers and there was one cleanser that is no longer on the market.

I had the realization that I had to get to the root cause of the skin problem, not just treat the skin.

When I left that Dermatologist office in 2000, I had already been studying and practicing as an Alternative Health Practitioner.  I had the realization that I had to get to the root cause of the skin problem, not just treat the skin.  At that point, I went to the best holistic practitioners that I could find.   The cause of my skin condition was multi-layered.  There was a huge emotional component, which is when I learned how truly priceless Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is.  There were also dietary causes, hormonal imbalance and nutrient deficiencies as well as a large immune component.  All of the techniques I use today as a practitioner were used to heal my skin, i.e. Total Body Modification (TBM) and Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA).

The products that I use and recommend are personally tested by me and then individually tested for each client.

I am so very grateful to say that I have healthy “normal” skin on my face today.  However, I am still incredibly sensitive and therefore very picky about what I put on my face and body whether at home or at a salon. I wanted to create a holistic center, where the whole person will be treated and to use products safe, natural and effective. The products that I use and recommend are personally tested by me and then individually tested for each client.

As aging became evident on my face and neck, I realized most treatments and products were far too harsh for my skin.  In my search for a safe, holistic, effective, anti-aging treatment option for people of all skin types, I found Energy Light Rejuvenation (ELR).  ELR is an amazing, relaxing and effective technique to holistically create a younger more radiant you.  For those of you unable to get in for ELR Treatments, I recommend NuFace Trinity Facial Toner for at home use.  For a customized protocol, email me your photo, age, and description of your skin to peggy@alternativebliss.com ($35 fee).

I hope to have the opportunity to help you achieve wellness in all areas of your life.

Namaste, Peggy
